“Finca El Recreo”
Felix Lavaque Winery is located at Cafayate Valley, 5.000 feet above sea level, among clear skies and cool breezes with an average temperature of 18º C all year round.
The dry climate with scarce rainfall and permanent sunlight, ensures ripe-to-perfection grapes with a high concentration of fruit.
The wide temperature variation between day and night, produce deep coloured and complex grapes, typical from this north-western region of Argentina.
The rocky sandy soil, with natural drainage and rich in Andean minerals, is drip irrigated with the most pure water available, which results from melted virgin snows.
In 1889, Felix Lavaque continuing with a viticultural tradition started by his father, produced the first quality wine in Cafayate, one of the two mayor wine producing centers in the northwestern region of Argentina. His legacy and passion continued to pass onto each new generation with renewed strength. Today is Rodolfo Félix Lavaque, together with his son Francisco -UC Davis degree of Bachelor of Science with a major in Viticulture and Enology,- fifth generation of Lavaque family, who combine more than a century knowledge in the art of winemaking, with permanent update and a strong investment in technology.
Bodega and Estate Felix Lavaque, has 360 hectares
of cultivated vineyards, among the most ideal environmental
conditions, which ensure healthy grapes and high quality
wines.
